South Korea: duty-free for imported eggs
South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Animal Husbandry said Tuesday it plans to temporarily lift import duties on egg products in a bid to overcome a shortage of egg products due to a bird flu outbreak.According to South Korean media reports, the government will finalize the plan next week.Under the new rules, South Korean importers will be able to import up to 50,000 tons of fresh eggs and seven other egg products duty-free until the end of June.It is understood that South Korea currently imposes tariffs of 8% to 30% on imported egg products.
